Links within websites texts
Links are an important element for any web content. Links should be treated with caution even when inserted in simple articles. The Internet is defined as a network of information and links are those that ensure the access to this base of information.
Any Internet user navigates among them and knows how to introduce them logically into text. However, behind this intuitive and natural use of links there are some rules and explanations. Caromtex Design – a web design agency in Montreal – presents some guidelines for using the links in terms of SEO:
- It is recommended that links to be made of words or phrases of two or three words. In fact, the most important part in creating a link is choosing the anchor text. It is useless to put links on whole sentences. Any information can be concentrated into a noun or two and search engines work with keywords.
- Do not overload the text with links. If you make too many links to other sites, means that you doubt your authority as an author. After all, for any text are used several sources so that the final result to be an original text, with its own interpretation. It is not necessary that for every information to insert a link to the original site of this information. A more elegant way is to mention the sources at the end of text.
- The ideal number of links is around three, enough to make reference to other sites, but to keep at the same time the flow of reading.
- Use the no follow links unless you have a very good reason. Regarding comments on the blog, it is much easier not to approve spam, rather than treat everyone with “no follow”.
