Web design for mobile phones
When you build an online platform, be it e-commerce or blog, it is imperative to think of mobile phones users – because the number of people who access the Internet via mobile phones is increasing. For this reason, Caromtex Design presents two main rules to be observed in web design for mobile phone, in order to give proper attention to all mobile internet users, which will lead to a larger audience.
- You need to know the most commonly used web format. The mobile phones of Internet users are divided in two categories: the expensive ones, able to display complex pages and the oldest ones, which use XML format. Although mobile phones have evolved greatly in the last few years, you have to know your audience in order to know what format to use – because by providing a page that is not compatible with mobile phones used by your audience, you can lose customers, and sometimes you can reach a market of consumers who are not interested in expensive phones or do not have money to buy them.
- You need to know the most commonly used resolutions. Perhaps the main issue of web designers is the resolution used by mobile phones – because it is very important that the site to be adapted to main resolutions used by mobile phones. The most common resolutions used are: 128 x 160, 176 x 220, 240 x 320, 320 x 480. To better know your audience you need to install Google Analytics, software that provides information about the resolutions used by the target audience.
