1, Facebook Photo Theater Killer is the solution for Firefox

New interface for viewing pictures is also called Photo Theater, hence the name of this addon for Mozilla Firefox. Unlike the solution for Chrome, this plug in fir Firefox requires the installation of Greasemonkey add-on in Firefox, an extension which allows running java scripts that change display mode of certain pages. In this case is about removing the photo viewer’s pop-up.

2. Get Back Old Facebook Chat for the old interface of chat

Considering the advantages of the old chat interface, where was obvious who in the list was online, is highly questionable why Facebook wanted to change it. However, if you prefer the old interface of chat Mugilan C. Prime came up with a solution. Just install the extension in the title in Chrome and you will get rid of both the news ticker, and the new chat interface.

3. Tidy Facebook Chat for Firefox allows you to view online friends only

The big problem is that the new interface displays all the friends who have Facebook chat list. Thanks to Nicolas Maravitti extension for Firefox that takes care of the filter, you can see more easily which of your friends are online.

4. Get the “Comment” button with Facebook Comment Fixer

To avoid mistakes and to be able to read once again until click the old “Comment” button, install Facebook Comment Fixer add-on created by Matt Kruse for Google Chrome.

5, The solution for Firefox is F.B. Purity

Even if the portfolio with functions of F.B. Purity for Firefox browser is extremely broad, among those functions is included the “Comment” button.

Whatever inconvenience caused you the new Facebook interface it is very likely that a programmer just upset as you to have created an extension to solve the problem.

Even though Facebook has grown to 850 million users, more and more users are beginning to be disturbed by the direction towards which the website is heading. It is true some changes are fun, attractive and even useful, but unfortunately, this number represents a tiny percentage of all the elements that make life more difficult when visiting the “new” Facebook. Caromtex Design is a web design company in Montreal and in this article our team presents you five solutions to get back your old Facebook interface.

Return to the old news feed and hide the new Ticker with Facebook Classic

Many users are disturbed by the way the main news feed is rearranged, as if judged according to “importance / popularity”. Trying to compensate, Facebook introduced in the upper right corner a News Ticker. This Toolbar displays very fast what your friends are doing.

To get rid of the discomfort caused by the new News Ticker and to restore news feed in chronological order, Facebook Classic is the best solution. One of the advantages this application is that you can enable or disable its functionality at any time.

Facebook Ticker Remover for Firefox

If you are using Mozilla Firefox, the add-on called suggestive Facebook Ticker Remover makes a good job in removing News Ticker.

Get rid of Facebook polls with Kill Facebook Questions

Designed by Aaron Godin for Chrome, the supplement may be inserted into the browser and thus will help you get rid of the questions posted by your friends, increasingly more often. Facebook introduced polls some time ago to compete with sites dedicated to this activity.

Get rid of polls on Wall with F.B. Purity

An extension created by a Facebook user named steeev +, F.B. Purity has a check mark dedicated to eliminate Facebook Questions in case you are using Mozilla Firefox.

Return to the old interface to view photos with Revert FB Photo Viewer

For unknown reasons, Facebook abandoned the old interface for viewing images and replaced it with a popup, which is more aesthetic, but more difficult to load in some situations and is not so useful. If you want to return to the old interface that has two buttons previous / next, then click the name of the extension above created by Steve Gilbertson.

Links should be treated with caution even when inserted in simple articles. The Internet is defined as a network of information and links are those that ensure the access to this base of information.

Any Internet user navigates among them and knows how to introduce them logically into text. However, behind this intuitive and natural use of links there are some rules and explanations. Caromtex Design – a web design agency in Montreal – presents some guidelines for using the links in terms of SEO:

It is recommended that links to be made of words or phrases of two or three words. In fact, the most important part in creating a link is choosing the anchor text. It is useless to put links on whole sentences. Any information can be concentrated into a noun or two and search engines work with keywords.

Do not overload the text with links. If you make too many links to other sites, means that you doubt your authority as an author. After all, for any text are used several sources so that the final result to be an original text, with its own interpretation. It is not necessary that for every information to insert a link to the original site of this information. A more elegant way is to mention the sources at the end of text.

The ideal number of links is around three, enough to make reference to other sites, but to keep at the same time the flow of reading.

Use the no follow links unless you have a very good reason. Regarding comments on the blog, it is much easier not to approve spam, rather than treat everyone with “no follow”.

Once created, an online store does not require large investments. Unlike a traditional shop where costs are high, once created, an online store allows a much greater freedom in terms of cost and logistics.

Why choose an online store instead of a traditional store?

- An online store saves you pay more employees. For the beginning the store management can be done by a single person.

- An online store saves you from paying rent for an office as if a traditional store.

- An online store does not really need large stocks. Unlike a traditional store, where you constantly have goods in stock, an online store allows you to eliminate the need for large stocks, and that can block you financially.

- The costs of handling are eliminated, resulting in a lower price for the end customer.

- An online store allows you higher freedom. You only need a computer connected to Internet and a phone. Orders are coming through phone and e-mail.

Caromtex Design is a Montreal web design company that offers services to create online stores at affordable prices.

Facebook makes again major changes and thus introduces the Timeline for Fan Page.

As expected, everyone gets a grace period in which to prepare a new design for fan page. Deadline is March 30, 2012.

Landing tabs lose their utility, but compensates with the possibility to organize the tabs at the top of the page according to priorities.

Considering that Facebook pages for institutions and companies are called Pages the Timelines specific for these accounts are called Timeline Pages. Apparently, the functionality is identical to the timeline of each of us, with some differences, eg for Timeline Pages, the idea of Life Events, now are called Milestones.

Here are some things you should know about Timeline for Facebook pages:

Tabs and Landing Page disappear. Although there are hundreds if not thousands of companies offering services for these tabs and pages, once with the introduction of Timeline these will no longer be available.

Applications will be visible on the right of profile picture.

Other facilities offered by Timeline: the ability to place a banner (cover), the ability to set a post as featured (which occupies the entire width of the page by default) the option to set a post to top of page (pin to top).

For each user, right below the header can be seen his friends who are also fans of the page.

There’s no longer the possibility to view all posts (both the personal and fans page). There are instead Highlights options, friends’ activity, admin’s posts or posts from others.

Regarding the administration there are three new features: opportunity to moderate the posts made by other fans before being published and displaying or non-displaying the box with posts from fans.

You’ve probably heard of Google+, the latest social networking platform launched by Google in the effort to compete with Facebook and Twitter. Did you know that this platform can influence your site’s visibility on Google and its positioning in search results?

Besides the construction of a powerful social networking, the goal for which Google has launched the ‘+1′ (the equivalent of button ‘Like’ from Facebook) is to determine the social value of sites. In other words, they want all visitors to add recommendations ‘+1′ on Web sites.

Since its launch in June 28 last year, over 28 million people have joined Google+. Many owners of sites are already wondering whether these recommendations ‘+1′ will affect the way they use SEO – Search Engine Optimization.

Google+ combines many popular features of Facebook and Twitter in a centralized social environment. The most relevant in terms of SEO is ‘Google Circles’, a feature that allows users to share content with some ‘circles’ of friends. As long as users form these circles of friends, they will be able to see in their search results the websites that other members have recommended by ‘+1′ button.

Google+ is not SEO in the traditional way. Marketers should focus on providing the best experience for their customers and encourage them to recommend ‘+1′ for their site.

On a site layout logo should be positioned in the upper left corner of the site and try to keep the logo relatively small and compact, not more than 280px wide.

Navigation

This is ideal at the top of the page or just below the logo or its right.

Contact Details

The main contact information, such as call to action, such as phone numbers and e-mail should be placed in a module in the top right of the page and at the bottom to contain minor contact details.

Page content

Then the real content of the page appears in the center of a web page with three columns and center right on a site with two columns. For Blogs, Sidebar is preferred on the right and the site content on the left.

Company details

This type of information should be placed at the bottom of your site and have a reference to contact details page.

According to Google, this change of algorithm will affect the only 1% of searches. Sites that are penalized for this reason can change the layout of advertisements and this way, once with the next scanning of the robots, the penalty will be automatically removed.

Facebook has published the new design for Facebook pages, called “Timeline“.

In order to access it visit http://www.facebook.com/about/timeline. Here, besides the fact that you enable application Timeline, you can also customize the wall image for your future profile. Unlike profile image, the cover image can be more special, more intimate and more panoramic.

Once you’ve done this upgrade there are seven days until other users can view your Timeline. During this time you can make changes – then Timeline will be published automatically. If you consider that everything is perfect, you can publish it immediately, by clicking on Publish Now button located at the top of the Timeline.

What happens next? Your profile takes a different twist. You’ve probably noticed that all information posted over time is attached on the left and right to a line.

Regarding Timeline, the security issue becomes nor simpler, nor more complex than before. Every settings you have applied regarding the information shared with friends, work colleagues or family members, it continues to be applied in exactly the same way. Moreover, by clicking the pencil in the upper right of an event, you can hide it and if you click on the star in the same area you can configure it to divide into two columns.
